Saturday night was historic for America . The U.S. House of Representatives voted to approve a bill guaranteeing all citizens access to health care. The bill is not perfect but it is far better than where we are today and it truly is historic.
I am happy to report that all 5 members of the CT House delegation voted right and supported the bill. It is important that today, we call them to thank them for their votes. It is important that they hear from us when they do the right thing.
You can use the number that we have been using to call Senator Lieberman 1-877-3-AFLCIO (235-246). Just push "2" for the House instead of the Senate. Let me thank you for all your good work on this bill.
Now, the problem. To paraphrase Yogi Berra, “It ain’t over til it’s JOE-VER.” reiterated, yesterday, on Fox News Sunday that he will filibuster any bill that has a public option in it. Click the link:
This means that we need to keep up the pressure. After you call to thank your House member, call Senator Lieberman’s office and tell him not to join any filibuster that will stand in the way of historic reform for America . We deserve an up or down vote on this important issue.
If you can’t get through on the 877#, his CT office is 860-549-8463.
Please make the call and get your co-workers to call also.
